Trujillo Spain. Cradle of Conquistadors.

Captain Francisco de Orellana started the Amazon expedition on December 26, 1541, undertaking the first navigation of the world’s longest and mightiest river. He took fifty- seven men on board the fragile ship San Pedro, to sail the tumultuous Coca River. As the boat was not adequate, the company decided on the construction of a greater brig, the Victoria. Turning Trujillo into the "Source of the Amazonia" and the center for the discovery and conquista of America.
